Tooth decay treatment: Gentle, modern care without unnecessary pain
Tooth decay is one of the most common dental problems, but the good news is that, when detected early, it can be treated quickly, gently, and without complications. At myDENT, we use modern treatment methods that preserve as much healthy tooth structure as possible and minimise discomfort.
Whether you have early-stage decay, decay between the teeth, or more extensive damage, we will recommend the most suitable treatment for your individual needs.

What is tooth decay, and why should treatment not be delayed?
Tooth decay is caused by bacteria that damage the tooth enamel and gradually penetrate deeper into the tooth. In its early stages, it may cause no pain at all. Without treatment, however, it can progress and eventually lead to inflammation of the dental pulp or the need for root canal treatment.
Decay between the teeth is also common, as it develops in areas that a standard toothbrush cannot reach. This is why regular preventive care and early treatment of tooth decay are so important.
How is tooth decay treated at myDENT?
We will first examine the tooth carefully and explain the extent of the decay and the available treatment options.
2. Local anaesthesia
Tooth decay treatment is always carried out under at least local anaesthesia.
3. Removal of the decay
We gently remove the damaged part of the tooth while preserving as much healthy tooth structure as possible.
4. Filling
The tooth is then restored with a high-quality composite material matched to the natural colour of your teeth.
5. Bite adjustment and final check
Finally, we shape and adjust the filling so that the tooth feels comfortable and fits your bite properly.

When should you book an appointment?
- your teeth are sensitive to sweet, cold, or hot foods and drinks;
- you notice a dark spot or a cavity in a tooth;
- you feel pain when biting;
- it has been a long time since your last preventive check-up.
The earlier tooth decay is treated, the simpler, quicker, and less invasive the procedure is likely to be.
Who treats tooth decay at myDENT?
